Tokyo, Japan A-line Mini Skirts

June 13, 2009 in Tokyo by admin

This spring’s must-have item, an A-line mini skirt, creates a variety of looks simply by mixing the piece with either sophisticated or casual trends.  For the sporty look, rock the mini skirts with striped zip-up jackets and lace-up knee-high boots.  Another approach is to add colored or opaque tights underneath to keep warm from the chillier days.  All in all, the trendsetters in Tokyo tend to wear light sweaters or cardigans over the skirts.  On the other hand, pair a high-waisted skirt with a graphic tank underneath to show off the waist.  Either way, the a-line mini skirts give shape to the ensemble and are flirtier than most styles because of how they flare out at the thighs.  It’s an effortless and casually sweet look altogether.

Mary Jane Shoes in Tokyo

June 13, 2009 in Tokyo by admin

The thought of mary janes may conjure up the image of a conservative pair of black shoes, but the style for this season is anything but lackluster.  Mary janes have evolved into a seriously sexy shoe.  The concept is still the same with closed toes and a strap, but the current style adds a sharp and striking heel for the modern appeal.  Mary janes have been revamped and are now versatile enough to take on the most daunting of spring outfits, complete with stiletto or platform heels.

Rodarte, Christian Louboutin, and Marni are among the many with a version of these American classics, ranging in the season’s must-have black or beige, to reptile leathers or the bondage-inspired trends of studs and straps that will make you wonder if they are truly descendants of the harmless school girl shoes of the past.
